The Alliance: the context
MEFBA leverages the power of its nationwide alliance of grassroots forest user groups to amplify the voices of local peoples and proactively engage local elected governments, multilateral institutions, and private sector actors to adopt market led demand-driven NTFP social business dynamics for conservation and rural livelihoods. The Alliance works to actualise a structured grassroots entrepreneurial agenda to sync with inclusive and gendered rural self-employment with bio-economy models to thwart climate challenges locally.
The Alliance seeks to unblock all local social, political, cultural and other institutional obstacles to create the enabling conditions for an impactful progress in the quality of life of the local community and the biosphere that surround it and eventually create pathways to scale.
